Position Overview

The full-time faculty rely on a talented & competent “pool” of adjunct faculty to teach a variety of studio courses. Instructors accepted into our Adjunct Pool will be approved for teaching a specific course or courses, but may not be assigned a course immediately.

Essential Duties

The individual will teach advanced photography skills and project development for upper-level majors; direct fine-art photography students in both technical and critical thinking skills.

Required Qualifications

Education: MFA degree.

Experience:

-College teaching experience.
-Substantial experience with creative analog and digital image-making, including lighting design, editing, and printing.

Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of one year of teaching beyond the introductory level.

Environmental Conditions

Advanced photography classes primarily take place in a Macintosh computer lab, but may also involve use of photo chemicals in a wet darkroom.

-UNION ELIGIBILITY: Adjuncts become eligible to join the RIC/AFT Adjunct Union if they complete 6 load hours (excludes applied music) within the two previous consecutive years.

-Upon hire, candidate will be required to provide an official transcript of highest degree earned.
